A poetic phrase stamped into the sidewalk when it was poured along stretches of TriMet Max stops in SE Portland is a sample of many others found in the area. It reads "FENCE IS SIMPLE DIVISION INSISTENT AS SYLLABLES". Along the sidewalk, a chain link fence rises up to prohibit people from crossing the train tracks. Fallen leaves from trees line the bottom of the fence.
