Moviegoers exit Laurelhurst Theater, a cinema in SE Portland known for showing mainly indie films. A couple walks away from the theater holding an umbrella. A person locks up their bicycle on the rack in front of the theater as others exit the theater after seeing a movie. An employee works the box office. The marquee advertises times for Frankenstein, One Battle After Another, Springsteen, Good Fortune, and Bugonia. The theater's massive neon display in the shape of a peacock unfurling its wings is bright even against this late afternoon stormy sky. Laurelhurst is written in neon, traveling vertically between lines radiating outward. Two cursive Ls frame the neon above the marquee, which reveals another set of neon underneath the marquee.
