There should sometimes be limits on the reach of corporations into our lives. This aspect of Humboldt County is one that I appreciated the most while visiting there. Wal Mart and Home Depot can't get semi trucks through Richardson Grove, one of the largest and densest grove of redwoods that line US 101 in Northern California. These corporations keep lobbying to get the trees cut down in order to widen the road. But then we wouldn't be able to experience magical moments like this one captured a little further down the road in the Avenue of The Giants. Just build a damn bypass that has less impact on the trees. But then again, giving even a local government an idea is useless when big business lines their pockets with money. 3 shot HDR, shot handheld with a Canon 7D. The flare was awesome, one of the best if not the best I've ever shot with this lens. Processed in Camera Raw to remove aberration, then merged to HDR and processed again in Camera Raw.
