This photo is part of a series of kinetic light paintings. I make handheld movements with a DSLR, intentionally painting with available light. The camera itself is the paintbrush, gathering light while I expose the frame for 1-3 secs. In this case, I'm capturing the light of a California sunset. I'm pretty bored when I go shooting at home. The same landmarks, over and over again. I lay in wait for some extraordinary lighting to capture the beach and California coast. In between HDR landscapes, I find myself playing with light in different ways. This shot is the original crop.
