Please like and vote for my work! It may get featured in the Weekly Monday Blog Contest! I treat my still camera like a video camera, exposing the sensor while moving for the span of seconds. Naturally occurring scenes filled with beautiful color and light are abstracted into an expression of time and space. The original subject is no longer the emphasis of the photograph, substituted by the line, color and shape of motion blurred light. Most light painting is a form of drawing, but this work is the furthest from pictorial. I don't really feel like I'm painting. The movements I make are largely influenced by my experience operating professional video equipment. This practice becomes a sort of a therapy from the boredom of shooting the same things over and over again.
